line+建筑事务所联合创始人、主持建筑师孟凡浩受美国哈佛大学设计学院（GSD）邀请，举办主题讲座及新书北美发布会。两场活动将分别于2025年11月17日与11月19日在GSD Gund Hall举行，面向全校师生与公众开放。
Fanhao Meng, Co-Founder and Chief Architect of line+ studio, has been invited to deliver a keynote lecture and North American launch of his new book at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Both events will take place at Gund Hall on November 17 and 19, 2025, and are open to the entire GSD community and the public.
讲座主题为“Contradictions as Method: Building the Architecture of Contemporary China”， 孟凡浩将探讨在快速城市化、资本约束、全球现代性与本土文化传承的多重张力下，如何将“矛盾”转化为建筑创造的内在方法论。
The lecture, “Contradictions as Method: Building the Architecture of Contemporary China,” explores how Fanhao Meng converts the tensions of rapid urbanization, capital constraints, global modernity, and local cultural traditions into an intrinsic methodology for architectural creation.
他将以“赋形（Shaping）”、“赋能（Empowering）”与“赋效（Optimizing）”三重路径为线索分享如何在建筑实践中将复杂性转化为方法，通过一系列跨越不同尺度、服务多元群体的项目，展示建筑如何在社会、经济与文化的动态博弈中，成为一种生成性的力量。
Through his tripartite framework of Shaping, Empowering, and Optimizing, Fanhao Meng will present projects across diverse scales and communities―demonstrating how architecture can transform tension into creativity and act as a generative force within the social, economic, and cultural dynamics of contemporary China.
在他看来，“构建中国当代建筑”，不仅是回应现实与发展的矛盾，更是通过建筑重塑秩序与意义，使矛盾成为激发创新的根源。
For Fanhao Meng, “building for Contemporary China” means not merely responding to contradictions between tradition and development, but transforming them into a creative source that redefines order and meaning through architecture.
新书发布会主题为“存故以新”，特别邀请到大舍建筑事务所主持建筑师、哈佛大学设计学院丹下健三教席教授柳亦春，刘宇扬建筑事务所创始人、雪城大学建筑学院 D. Kenneth Sargent 客座评论教授刘宇扬，以及七月合作社创始人康恒共同参与。
The symposium, titled “Fuse New into Past,” will feature guest speakers Yichun Liu (Principal Architect of Atelier Deshaus, Kenzō Tange Chair, Graduate School of Design, Harvard University ), Yuyang Liu (Founder & Principal of Atelier Liu Yuyang Architects, D. Kenneth Sargent Visiting Critic, School of Architecture, Syracuse University), and Heng Kang (Founder of July & Partners).
本次研讨对谈以孟凡浩的最新英文著作为主线，举办北美首发。发布会将围绕书中案例与设计理念展开，嘉宾们将与哈佛师生展开深入对话，探讨中国当代建筑的观念演化与文化根基。
Anchored on Fanhao Meng’s latest English publication, marking its North American debut, the event will explore the book’s case studies and design philosophies. Speakers will engage with Harvard students and faculty in a deep dialogue on the evolution and cultural foundations of contemporary Chinese architecture.
